This March we are focused on Joint Pain Relief, specifically Knee, Shoulder, and Wrist Pain. I think there is a growing awareness in the Health Care Community about how effective and palliative Massage can be as an integral part of your pre- and post surgical tool kit. Doctors are noticing the significantly shortened rehab time post-surgery when patients make use of medical massage therapies that drain Lymphatic swelling and edema, do Crossfiber Friction, Myofacial Release and Trigger Point Therapy to break down scarring and eliminate adhesions. Pre- surgery Massage can often be more effective than surgery and more appealing as a less invasive option. It is awesome to be a practitioner of a healing art where patients come to you for pre-surgical Pain Relief and find themselves dodging surgery altogether. The highest incidence of this I have seen is in the case of Knee, Shoulder and Carpal Tunnel pain. Though I have also helped many people with severe Plantar Fasciitis and even two different clients who had frozen fingers they had been unable to bend for years and both regained full ROM after just one session. And I think the most significant by far has been the Low Back Pain clients. I have seen so many of these hobble in with a great deal of pain, only to walk out elated 90 minutes later. So many of these cases had considered surgery their only option for relief until trying out Massage. The body is truly phenomenal in its ability to heal, and rebalancing the tissue, removing blocks to good circulation, creating joint hydration and biotensegrity...this is just as profound as surgery to the healing of joints—and with so many fewer drawbacks. So, to bring attention to this vastly helpful tool we have in Massage, I am offering a Free Joint Pain Relief Clinic on Friday March 23rd from 11-2pm. I will be doing abbreviated 10-15 minute sessions on moderate to acute knee shoulder and wrist injuries, as many as I can schedule, within that time. If you have a back or neck or ankle or hip issue I will be glad to include you too, though I’d like the focus to be on knee shoulder and hip for this month. I may also be demo-ing some of the massages in a group setting, and I will be discussing some of the wellness practices you can use to enrich your joint health. Everything from muscular detox to hot and cold therapies, diet, daily trigger points, breath work and exercise will be discussed and questions are welcomed. I am so thankful to the Hot Springs community and the way people have responded to these modalities. My clients and their willingness to do the work of healing are always a huge part of the reason therapies such as these can be so radically effective. I feel very blessed to be allowed to work with you. I am surrounded by a community of phenomenal healers! Please call ahead to reserve your time 501-625-0540.

There is life after sun...and after summer flip flops.Ah my poor sun-tattered skin. It feels much better now. I created this month's spa menu after nursing my very own Coppertone-Baby- level sunburn. I'm usually pretty careful to SPF up and not get burnt, but then I went on vacation to California, met a friend for lunch on a beautiful Pacific Coast beach, watched amazingly close to shore whales and sea lions, altogether had a magical day and spent hours rather than just lunch on a chilly but sunny beach. Yep. Got completely lobster-fied, did not even occur to me to put on sunscreen. So this menu contains some of the ways in which I pampered my skin post-burn, plus what I am currently doing for my own flip flop feet. Which were the worst, I gotta say. So I hope you can make it out for this month's special $70 for the whole enchilada, an hour long deeply hydrating, deeply exfoliating, deeply soothing and regenerating spa that just about everyone should treat themselves to after summer is done, just to keep summertime aging and drying to a minimum and start the school year fresh. Because that's what having #aftersunskillz is all about.
Ok, so I don't know if y'all have noticed but I'm kind of partial to fresh ingredients when it comes to our facials and spa products. Almost every month I try and choose a fun #freshspa offering for the last week of the month. This month we are offering a #berryface spa which includes a fresh yogurt, honey and Berry mask and an oatmeal n Berry face scrub. Oftentimes people who aren't able to book during that last week see the #freshspa post on Facebook and call to see if they can get it the week after, most times the answer is yes. So if you have a favorite fresh spa 'flavor' and you're wondering if I will bring it back just for you, please just ask! I love pampering my clients and love going above and beyond to make them feel special. It's all about you here at Aloha. So call us up at 501-625-0540 to reserve your time and enjoy the fun of this month's #berryface spa!
